Alright I have to go now. Cleaning my new home. Keep asking and see you later today!
— NLers: Famke (@Netherlanders) November 26, 2012
So, I’m back! First thing I wanted to share was something we dutchies are very good at: water! http://t.co/WFZGiaRe
— NLers: Famke (@Netherlanders) November 26, 2012
Besides the computing tech, we need to protect ourselfs from the water, especially after the disaster in 1953. #techinholland
— NLers: Famke (@Netherlanders) November 26, 2012
“@bjsebeck: Hey @Netherlanders Did you know that your country sold Manhattan to the Brits in the 1600's for nutmeg and sugar?” YES I DID!
— NLers: Famke (@Netherlanders) November 26, 2012
So, what are the coolest gadgets you have or want to own? #techinholland
— NLers: Famke (@Netherlanders) November 26, 2012
@Netherlanders I want a robot that brings me a cold beer! 😉
— Elroy Keuris (@ElroyK) November 26, 2012
@Netherlanders A Teletransporter.
— Cristóbal (@krzysiekcl) November 26, 2012
Cool ones: I want, to keep it Dutch, the Philips hue. LED-lights that you can control with your phone in all colors! #techinholland
— NLers: Famke (@Netherlanders) November 26, 2012
@netherlanders There is also something called Sonos or something: (spotify)music throughout your entire house, controlled by iphone/ipad
— Elroy Keuris (@ElroyK) November 26, 2012
Somebody asked about some great Dutch inventions. What Dutch inventions are known internationally?
— NLers: Famke (@Netherlanders) November 26, 2012
Great ones! Microscope and the CD where mentioned the most.
— NLers: Famke (@Netherlanders) November 26, 2012
There is a great series of videos about inventions in tech from dutchies. It’s called polder pioniers: http://t.co/N0pK8qVY
— NLers: Famke (@Netherlanders) November 26, 2012
@Netherlanders Don't know if I can call them inventions, but The Voice and Big Brother is still worth mentioning!
— Taco de Gud (@Blommisen) November 26, 2012
So, back from my day at the university. Had a afternoon full of classes about Organizations and Finance.
— NLers: Famke (@Netherlanders) November 26, 2012
One of the most innovative Dutch companies is Philips. An article about their production facilities http://t.co/WIQWn2mT #techinholland
— NLers: Famke (@Netherlanders) November 26, 2012
One thing I wanted to share today! We in Holland are one of the first countries to adopt Net neutrality, http://t.co/JW2rrv2Q
— NLers: Famke (@Netherlanders) November 26, 2012
Only point is: Right now there are talks about implementing a download law which forbids downloading illegal material from the internet.
— NLers: Famke (@Netherlanders) November 26, 2012
What are your thoughts on net neutrality? Do you know what it is and do you thinks its good? #techinholland
— NLers: Famke (@Netherlanders) November 26, 2012
@Netherlanders doesn’t the whole point of something being “illegal material” make it illegal to download in se?
— Ben Turner (@ben_turner) November 26, 2012
Good one @ben_turner. Right now the legislation is compared to our drug laws: It's legal to download/get it but illigal to upload/distribute
— NLers: Famke (@Netherlanders) November 26, 2012
Technically it isn't illigal. You can restate it as: Copyrighted material. Think of songs, series etc.
— NLers: Famke (@Netherlanders) November 26, 2012
I don’t think internet providers should be responsible for policing the bits that pass through their networks @spritesbites @Netherlanders
— Ben Turner (@ben_turner) November 26, 2012
Just as road builders are not responsible for policing normal roads, the police should do that @spritesbites @Netherlanders
— Ben Turner (@ben_turner) November 26, 2012
Hey guys, good morning. Quick question: who speaks Danish and is willing to kind if translate a website for someone to English.
— NLers: Famke (@Netherlanders) November 27, 2012
Zo, went to the barber to cut a HUGE portion of my hair. Now nice and tidy and off to work! Today not so much tweeting, i'm sorry!
— NLers: Famke (@Netherlanders) November 27, 2012
The new me! On many requests of you. pic.twitter.com/bYIERpxi
— NLers: Famke (@Netherlanders) November 27, 2012
Goodmoring, today is about hacking in the Netherlands. First one is about DigiNotar. I'll explain later: http://t.co/llrLWj8U #techinholland
— NLers: Famke (@Netherlanders) November 28, 2012
So what was going there was the security guards of the internet got hacked. That's not good. #techinholland
— NLers: Famke (@Netherlanders) November 28, 2012
Besides the big tech companies like Philips the’re a lot of startups in Holland, especially in Amsterdam. Who knows ebuddy, silk or hyves?
— NLers: Famke (@Netherlanders) November 28, 2012
“@siemes: @Netherlanders How about Wetransfer and Layer?” Yes! And what about Thenextweb?
— NLers: Famke (@Netherlanders) November 28, 2012
Also, in terms of tech and websites: there is .com, .co.uk, but did you know that the .nl was the first country-extension for the internet?
— NLers: Famke (@Netherlanders) November 28, 2012
Did you know that there is a datacentre that keeps the Internet alive in Amsterdam and it’s one of the biggest in the world? #techinholland
— NLers: Famke (@Netherlanders) November 28, 2012
It’s a set of buildings connected throughout Amsterdam, it’s called AMS-IX. And I think you can’t get in there, too secure.
— NLers: Famke (@Netherlanders) November 28, 2012
@Netherlanders Did you know Tuvalu got $50 million for leasing its .tv extension?
— Nathalia Vásquez (@NathaliaVasquez) November 28, 2012
Cool to talk about dutch startups, but now I have to prepare an interview with the Director of HRM of a company with 6000 people. Whaaaa
— NLers: Famke (@Netherlanders) November 28, 2012
I got a lot of questions on what AMS-IX exactly is. Thanks to @VanAlenburg here is a video with a non-nerd explanation https://t.co/3N3gJQ7d
— NLers: Famke (@Netherlanders) November 28, 2012
Question thing: What site do you like the most? #techinholland
— NLers: Famke (@Netherlanders) November 28, 2012
Goodmorning my day starts bad. The doors of the train won’t close so there is a lot delays.
— NLers: Famke (@Netherlanders) November 29, 2012
Busy day today. Right now going to an interview with the boss of a catering company. What tech do you want to see in food/restaurants? #tech
— NLers: Famke (@Netherlanders) November 29, 2012
@Netherlanders semantic relations between what you've bought/eaten before and suggestions for future meals.
— Rick van der Valk (@RickValk) November 29, 2012
Interview was good! Talking about catering, there is an option somewhere to pay with your biometrics, in some way the same as you wanted!
— NLers: Famke (@Netherlanders) November 29, 2012
Especially handy in the restaurant at work. Scan your fingerprint and automatically paid by trough your salary.
— NLers: Famke (@Netherlanders) November 29, 2012
Also, besides philips there is another big company that makes the devices that make chips for computers. Quiz: What's the name? #tech
— NLers: Famke (@Netherlanders) November 29, 2012
It is a Dutch company guys, so no GE or Siemens.
— NLers: Famke (@Netherlanders) November 29, 2012
The machines they build make the Chips in computers for companies like HP, Samsung etc.
— NLers: Famke (@Netherlanders) November 29, 2012
Yes, first! “@deaddderek: @Netherlanders ASML.”
— NLers: Famke (@Netherlanders) November 29, 2012
They are on the same campus as Philips but are operating as a seperate company and are crucial in the tech industry.
— NLers: Famke (@Netherlanders) November 29, 2012
Downloading my favourity game right now. Kerbal Space Program. flying to the moon and stuff. Pretty cool!
— NLers: Famke (@Netherlanders) November 30, 2012
Today again a busy school day. But gonna go shopping for paint for my new room tonight. What color should I paint it?
— NLers: Famke (@Netherlanders) November 30, 2012
I don't want a dark color because the room isn't that big and that makes it even smaller.
— NLers: Famke (@Netherlanders) November 30, 2012
So guess what color I chose?! White!! pic.twitter.com/DbjlLLyA
— NLers: Famke (@Netherlanders) November 30, 2012
Mehh, one of the last days as @netherlander, so far it has been great although I wasn't that active. What do you want to see from me still?
— NLers: Famke (@Netherlanders) December 1, 2012
Alright cool game: sent me 4 words you want to say to me or that describe your week. But only 4 words.
— NLers: Famke (@Netherlanders) December 1, 2012
